We assist immigrant youth with cultural, linguistic and employment barriers to better integrate into Canadian society by providing them with information and support in areas of education, employment skills and life skills training.
Who: Immigrant youth ages 15-24 years, less than 3 years in Canada
ACTIVITIES
Education Support
Youth can bring their homework and receive assistance from volunteers and staff. There are various workshops and presentations throughout the year.
Saturday Self Study
From 12:00pm - 3:00pm
Location: IYOP Office (#100A, 315 - 10th Avenue SE)
After School Homework Group
From 4:00pm - 6:00pm
Location: G.W. Skene Elementary School (6226 Penbrooke Dr. SE)
Lending Programs
Borrow a laptop, digital camera or a graphing calculator for a period of 2 weeks
Math is Fun Summer Program
Develop basic mathematic skills in a fun environment, play sports and participate in activities and presentations

Employment Counselling
Ongoing employment workshops and individual counselling to help youth gain Canadian work experience. Learn how to create a resume and cover letter, search and apply for jobs and map out your career path.
