CCIS’s Community Development & Integration Services (CDIS) Division is searching for our next Settlement Coordinator in the Willow Creek Municipal District and is accepting applications from qualified job seekers!

CDIS is known for our focus on servicing Newcomers and for our innovative and collaborative community partnerships. Committed to the communities of Southern Alberta, our immigration services is proudly client and community focused, providing services to over 8,000 clients each year.

We are looking for a highly motivated, community-minded individual to help build community capacity in laying the foundation for an inclusive and welcoming Claresholm. This will be accomplished by working alongside individuals and groups in the community to improve their abilities to affect change and influence related issues. The Settlement Coordinator will achieve results in large part by establishing sustainable networks and introducing inclusionary practices.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Engaging and working with multiple stakeholders to support settlement integration in Claresholm and the surrounding area.
  • Promoting awareness and educating the community on issues surrounding Newcomers.
  • Facilitating community development initiatives which support Newcomer integration.
  • Acting as a bridge between Newcomers and available settlement services in the Willow Creek MD.
  • Developing/promoting partnerships and collaborations in settlement services.
  • Identifying community settlement strategies.
  • Providing settlement and integration services for the Rural Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) clients through Willow Creek Community Immigrant Services (WCIS).



  • A undergraduate degree in a related social science field.
  • Evidence of knowledge and experience in Community Development.
  • Evidence of knowledge and experience in the Settlement Services sector.
  • A resident of Claresholm or of the surrounding Willow Creek Municipal District in the near vicinity of Claresholm.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience coordinating projects.
  • Demonstrated skills in communication, interpersonal relations and ability to deliver workshops via webinar; computer skills and other forms of technology.
  • Fluency in a second language, e.g. Spanish or Tagalog, is a strong asset.
