  • Developing cross-cultural understanding.
  • Adapting to the Canadian workplace.

NEWCOMERS BARRIERS TO WORKFORCE ENTRY

  • Lack of familiarity with international credentials and experience;
  • Preference or requirements regarding Canadian work experience;
  • Concerns about the lack of language proficiency and awareness of Canadian technical terminology and idioms; and
  • Concerns that cultural miscommunications might occur, or that newcomers may not adapt to Canadian business norms.
