Government Assisted Refugees are provided with temporary accommodation at MCRC. This transitional house is often considered by GARs to be their first home in Canada. Refugees enjoy amenities for up to 19 days including a safe and comfortable environment, dining hall with 3 meals per day, individual rooms, TV and playroom, children's playground, and laundry facilities until suitable accommodation is secured. During their stay, refugees learn Canadian life management skills and overcome initial obstacles in adjusting to a new country.
