There is much to learn when you and your family first arrive. We assist with your immediate needs for housing, schools, health care and more.
WORKSHOPS & GROUP SESSIONS
Throughout the year, we provide workshops and information sessions to give you more knowledge about how to make Brooks your home. Our workshops cover a wide range of topics from driving in Alberta, to filing income tax, to learning about community events and discovering the many things you can do with your family.
Working in Canada will most likely be very different from what you are accustomed to. We will help make sense of the Canadian workplace. Our one-on-one employment services will help as you rewrite your resume and cover letter, and start your job search. Job interview techniques, employee rights & responsibilities and workplace culture are all topics we will discuss during our group workshops.
Our staff and volunteers speak a number of different languages and can assist you during those times when speaking and understanding English with other community members is necessary. Official documents requiring legal or medical translation can be facilitated by our Calgary office who have access to certified translators. Contact Sabah @ firstname.lastname@example.org This is a fee-for-service.
We are always looking for caring and committed people who can share their time and skills with others. Volunteers offer guidance and friendship to someone new, and they help us provide support to individuals and families, and the community as a whole.
As an organization with strong connections to Brooks, we have numerous opportunities for you to support our agency. You can lend a hand with office organization, paperwork, event management and so much more.
