Immigrant-Youth-Outreach-Project

This program assists immigrant and refugee youth, ages 15 - 24, to overcome cultural, linguistic and employment barriers by providing information and support in the areas of education, employment, and life skills training.

In addition to homework clubs, Saturday self study sessions, and drop-in homework help, you are able to borrow laptops and software, digital cameras, books and other reference material, and graphing calculators. You can also participate in piano or guitar lessons, social activities, or work with a counsellor on your resume and interview skills. This is a great place to meet new friends and learn new skills and hobbies.  Also exciting are our planned Summer Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break activities!  Staff at IYOP are willing and able to help you with any challenge you may be facing!.

Winter, Spring, and Summer Breaks

Winter, Spring, and Summer Breaks

We understand that long breaks from school can be amazing, but only when you have fun things to fill that time! During Calgary Board of Education breaks (in the winter, spring, and summer), IYOP plans and structures workshops, guest speakers, group volunteering activities, trips to fun places in the city, art projects, dance lessons, cooking classes, and so on. Each year is a bit different, but its always exciting! Winter and Spring breaks tend to be 4-5 full days of activities, while Summer break lasts (Four 4) full weeks!!
